To begin, open the VIP Server Controller and you will see the interface which looks like this:

The Flow Cache Server is used to put the automated workflows that perform the Masking Actions "In Memory". This significantly improves performance and should always be done before running any Masking Actions.

First, the following mandataory parameters need to be completed. For a full list and explanation of Masking parameters, please see Masking Parameters.

Flow Cache Server Name

This field refers to the name of the server where the Flow Cache will run.

Flow Cache Server File

This field refers to the path name for the file called FlowCache.txt

Log to Folder
This field is used when you want to gather more detailed log reports, for instance for the purpose of debugging your automation. It specifies the location to which a more detailed log report will be created. You can click "Start Logging" and "Stop Logging" to toggle logging on/off.

Note: This detailed logging can also be set in the "Run Flow" tab by selecting the debugging mode. Setting "Log to Folder" in the Flow Cache Server tab is ad hoc and will run debug mode until stopped. Selecting "Debug" in the "Run Flow" tab will run debugging when that one Action is executed.

Log Filter

The Log Filter option is for specifying a certain type of Action to be seen in the log file. For example, if the user enters some text using "" as a wildcard character e.g. "*Assign" will match all lines which contain "Assign" anywhere in the line. In the run flow tab, tick the Debug box (this to give you some output so that you can see what is happening) then click Start. When the user goes back to the Flow Cache Server tab, they should only see lines with "Assign" being shown. If "Log Filter" is left blank, all log information is shown to the user.

Once you've filled in these details, Press Start to put the FlowCache in memory and run. (This takes a little bit of time)
