    Article Summary

DataGPT utilises Generative AI to allow users to enter text and directly create test data within Test Data Automation. This powerful feature enables users to describe the test data they require, and then have it generated automatically for them.

To use the DataGPT feature, navigate to the Data Lists panel, and press the import button. This opens the import dialog.

Within the import list dialog you can select the relevant import option. In this case we'll be selecting 'DataGPT - Test Data AI'.

Within the DataGPT import options, you can input a data requirement. We find that the best textual requirements typically list what the dataset is about, and then covers the columns you expect in the resulting list. You'll see as an example we have specified "Members of parliament in the UK." which is the description of the dataset. Then we have given the columns we would like "Name, date of birth, location, year appointed".

The two other options available are the number of rows you would like to create, along with a creativity level which defines how creative DataGPT can be with it's response.

You'll see below our resulting list which has been created from the textual description.
