# Downgrading VIP

Follow the instructions in this documentation article to learn how to downgrade VIP.

Please follow the recommended instructions from Microsoft about how to uninstall programs of your windows machine and install the program Visual Integration Processor

Then install the earlier version of VIP following the instructions found here.

There is sometimes an issue when downgrading that VIP will crash when after the downgrade. If this happens delete the file %appdata%\vip\tool.xml and then restart VIP.
